Pastoring Is Easy as is the Christian Life Together, getting to know our Father in heaven
Thoughts for Meditation from Pastor Tom
God's Goal for You, Being “one” with Him.
I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,Philippians 3:8 KJV
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.Philippians 3:15 KJV
By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?1 Corinthians 3:10-16 NIV
The fires of life are a consistent proofing, refining of your actual union with Him. Perspective is everything in the fire. I was asked about my suffering. My suffering, though real, is like climbing a mountain which has challenges that are real but secondary to the goal. Suffering has a major impact on every person, always with individual as well as community purpose, no person is an island. Humility is key, the willingness to yield yourself to God and seek his will and purpose allows you to hear him and experience his faithfulness in the fire. A stubborn and opinionated attitude will reduce one's ability to hear and magnifies the suffering. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
Can you say with Paul?I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God,who loved me, and gave himself for me.Galatians 2:20 KJV
Did you know this about Jesus ?
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; Hebrews 5:7-8 KJV
Suffering, temptation is common, God is faithful, he will provide, listen to him, you can endure, when you live by his faith, his mind, not frustrating his grace. Grace (God's ability) is lavished upon us to draw us to the Lord, humbly yield and let God’s faithfulness be experienced in your life. His love will deal with your fears and even as Jesus, you will find today's challenge is preparing you for tomorrow's calling. Let yourself be loved. Explore your union with the Lord.
