Pastoring Is Easy as is the Christian Life Together, getting to know our Father in heaven
Thoughts for Meditation from Pastor Tom
Pastoring is easy, as is the Christian life
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
Jesus said come, take his yoke, his way and learn from him, and you will find rest for your soul. He declared his way of life is easy and light, any other opinion would be a deception.
The writings here record truths revealed to the author in his pursuit to know God, while seeking to faithfully pastor the church entrusted to his care. The scripture above was used by the Lord to challenge the author to realize in his life and ministry. The Lord and the author have enjoyed walking this out and now present them for your meditation.
Author’s disclaimer: I am a liar. This was a vital truth I had to receive, to help me humbly die to myself to follow the Lord. I had to recognize that even with 50 plus years of experience my mind was incompetent at best, especially when I had the mind of Christ freely available.
God declared “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged”. Rom. 3:4 KJV
God is taking the position of the source of truth, a place only he can hold. To accept anything without confirming with the Lord is to leave yourself open to deception, just as Adam and Eve did. For an easy and light Christian life the insecurity of deception must be eliminated.
Consider this truth and engage with the Lord to confirm the content of these writings. The purpose of these writings is to facilitate a direct conversational connection with God. With that you will be fully equipped to enjoy the easy and light life while you follow the plan of God.
Your life is one of endless possibilities !
